Training within organisations is always necessary but it is an area that is often difficult to organise effectively if the organisation is spread over numerous sites, with a variety of training and development needs which need to be met by multiple vendors. Costs can escalate when trying to bring staff together in one location for classroom based training, whilst other courses may simply be uneconomical to run because there are too few staff to warrant a trainer.

The Service

With BSG's innovative Learning Management programme, BSG can offer each organisation a scalable training service which can be tailored to suit both the organisation's needs and budget.

BSG is proud of the innovation which it brings to the corporate classroom. Offering a mix of technical and application training, BSG's own trainers work closely with trainers from other vendors to ensure the most effective means of learning is deployed to all its candidates. Whilst we can offer traditional classroom based training in our Training Suite at BSG House in London, BSG also offers online courses and even virtual courses where the candidate has all the benefits of classroom training without leaving their desks, with the "class " being dispersed all over the UK.

All this can be backed by the deployment of the BSG Learning Bank - an online application which allows the client's employees to book and authorise courses but which is administered by BSG's Training Administration team, who will then organise the actual booking of courses, the deployment of the training session and any pre and post course evaluation.

Unfortunately, training is all too often an area of corporate life which is managed in a haphazard fashion and which is "put to the bottom of the pile" when other priorities take precedence. By employing BSG to manage your training function for you, our clients receive not only innovative and cost-effective training but disciplined administration and best practice process as well.

Clear and transparent pricing

For a fixed monthly cost, BSG will administer all of a client's training and development needs through the deployment of the online Learning Bank. The administration of the training (see below) is included within the monthly fee, as is the hosting of the application. An additional cost will be charged to brand the application or make it bespoke for clients.

Once the appropriate courses have been evaluated for an individual organisation, course prices can be fixed for a definitive timeframe and staff can book and have their courses authorised online. This will allow a degree of planning for those having to verify that the training budget requirements of an organisation are being met.

Courses conducted via the virtual classroom, will also save the "hidden costs" of training such as travel, accommodation and subsistence which go hand in hand with some classroom based courses where staff from across the UK, and sometimes further afield, are required to attend.

Service Level Agreement

BSG will offer a minimum post score assessment of 8 on all courses, ensuring that the quality of training is always high.

Account Manager

Focussed on providing true customer satisfaction, the account manager works in tandem with the Training team to ensure that not only is the training conducted efficiently and in line with specified requirements, but that the training undertaken meets the needs of the business. They will ensure that where necessary training courses are integrated and coordinated across the client's organisation, that the Learning Bank is functioning properly across the whole organisation and is adapted where necessary, and that the reporting delivers real value rather than just statistics for the end users.

Service Delivery Manager

Senior members of our Training team act as service delivery managers (SDMs), ensuring that all training needs are assessed, courses are evaluated such that training needs are consistently met and the right type of course is tailored for the client organisation. They ensure that attendance is recorded, tests complete and any resulting information is reported on for the benefit of the client's management who are assessing the success of both their staff and the training itself.

Vendor management/escalation

BSG has high level accreditations and long standing experience working with major vendors, enabling it to take ownership of applicable vendor support contracts. This ensures that our clients don't have to manage such contracts separately, thus benefiting from reduced costs and management overheads.

BSG holds many vendor accreditations and has good partner relationships with many of the major software and hardware providers. This enables us to ensure that not only are our trainers up to date with the latest versions of third party software, but also that we offer correct courseware and other learning materials and hence can adapt this to suit our clients' individual needs.

Transition Management

During the transition phase, BSG will aim not only to move the core training administration requirements over to the BSG system but also to pull together and integrate any adhoc or disparate training which is being undertaken within the client organisation. The relevant "look and feel" will be developed for the Learning Bank to tailor it to fit with both the client's corporate image and the client's needs in terms of booking, authorisation and reporting.

Administration

From online booking right through to post -training assessment, BSG's Training team can administer the whole of your training function. Having ensured that any booked courses have been authorised, BSG will undertake a pre-course assessment on each candidate, book appropriate courses for the knowledge levels demonstrated, send out joining instructions and reminders for attendance. They will arrange for courseware and literature to be sourced, monitor attendance at the courses and conduct post-training evaluation and assessment. Relevant statistics will be compiled and will be made available to managers either online or in a presentation in order to ensure that the training has met the organisations needs as well as the individual's.

Reporting

Reporting can be compiled on attendance, skill levels, exam results and pre-and post course assessments. Reports are available on line or in hard copy in a format which ensures that statistics and data become useful information to our clients.

Change Control

Any changes required to the functionality of the Learning Bank will be administered via our change control mechanism. This imposes a necessary discipline on any changes made, avoids security issues, problems with the efficiency of the application and ensures approval for the change by all parties.

Time sharing of resources

As the corporate market place embraces increasingly complex technologies, it becomes ever more unlikely that effective training is delivered for each and every application, in each and every area of an organisation. Training courses must be evaluated and delivered in accordance with individual needs and learning capabilities. It is unlikely to be cost effective to pay expensive technical training experts to tailor a course to a variety of levels and learning styles, especially if only three people in the organisation need the course and can only attend on different days. The Learning Bank is the ultimate self-service training tool with course bookings and approvals undertaken via the application, joining instructions issued via email and online reporting available to management on elements such as attendance and performance.

Security

As a ISO27001 certified supplier of hosting and data centre activities, BSG and its staff are extremely aware of security issues and all applications hosted by us are operated using best practice process and procedures. The Learning Bank is no exception. Hosted in our data centre, the fact that the application holds personal data makes it even more imperative that the best possible security procedures are employed when managing the training records and associated data.

Knowledge Management

Reporting and statistics are meaningless unless they can be interpreted into a relevant source of information for positive future action. We actively work with our clients to ensure that the reporting they receive from BSG is what they want, is in a format which is meaningful to them and also allows them to assess how well the training given is meeting not only the needs of the candidates but also, and just as importantly the needs of the organisation.
